Car and driver from Islamabad to the north

Rent a Car for Northern Areas from Islamabad

A family in F-8 planning an Eid trip to Naran, a group from Bahria Town heading to Hunza for a week, an office team from Blue Area taking a weekend at Murree. Our northern tour car rental service sends a car and driver from Islamabad and Rawalpindi to the north, with the same driver for the whole trip.

These are chauffeur only tours, no self drive. One driver stays with you from pickup to drop off, on the way up and on the way back. Our office sits in PWD Society, right where the Islamabad Expressway turns toward Murree, and these mountain roads are ones our team drives regularly.

WhatsApp or call +92 306 5461192 with your destination, the dates and your group size, and we will suggest a vehicle and send a quote.

4x4

Revo and Prado in our fleet are 4x4, which is what we send whenever the route climbs into the mountains or the weather turns. If you are looking for 4x4 for rent in Islamabad specifically for a northern trip, tell us the destination and we will confirm which of these two fits your route and group size.

Our cars do not go on broken tracks, jeep trails or very tight mountain bends. Where a route needs a local jeep, such as the last stretch to Fairy Meadows, that is arranged separately, which the FAQs below explain.

Per day, not per km

How Pricing Works for Northern Trips

Northern tour pricing is worked out per day, for the number of days the car and driver are with you, not per kilometer. There is no fixed rate published here since fuel prices and the exact route change the figure, so message us on WhatsApp with your dates and destination for the quote.

If a landslide, snowfall or road closure extends your trip beyond the planned days, the extra days are charged at the same daily rate. We will always tell you about a delay as soon as we know, so there are no surprises when the trip ends.

What Is Included and What Is Not

In every quote

  • The car
  • The driver

Paid or arranged by you

  • Hotel bookings
  • Local jeep hire, such as for Fairy Meadows, Deosai or Saif ul Malook
  • Driver food and a place to sleep

The car and driver are included in every quote. Hotel bookings and local jeep hire, such as for Fairy Meadows, Deosai or Saif ul Malook, are arranged by the customer directly, since these are booked locally at each destination.

Staying overnight means covering the driver’s food and a place to sleep, separate from the vehicle rate. In the northern areas such as Naran, Kaghan and Swat this typically runs PKR 1,000 to 1,500 a night. Around Murree it usually comes to PKR 2,000 to 2,500 a night.

Naran, Kaghan, SwatPKR 1,000 to 1,500per night

Seasons shift every year

Best Time to Go and Road Closures

Roads in the north close and reopen with the seasons, and the exact dates shift every year, so always confirm the current status with us before you travel.

  • Usually closed
  • May reopen late May or June
  • Typically open
  • Snow season, 15 Dec to 25 Feb

Babusar Top on the Naran to Chilas road usually stays closed from around November until late May or June because of snow. The Khunjerab Pass on the way to the China border is typically open from April to December. Murree has its own snow season from 15 December to 25 February, when the district advises fully equipped four wheel drive vehicles and snow chains during heavy snowfall (PropPakistani, Murree snow season advisory).

The Karakoram Highway itself can see landslide blockages during the monsoon months, such as the stretch near Chilas that was blocked in June 2026 (Dawn). We check the current road status before every departure and let you know if a route needs adjusting.

Snow and Safety on Mountain Roads

In snow and icy conditions, an ordinary car slips even with chains fitted, so we send a 4x4 vehicle for winter trips to Murree or similar routes. Snow chains are not kept in the car by default. If the weather calls for them, we arrange chains on the spot and this cost is passed on to the customer. Our drivers are told to slow down and avoid sudden braking on wet or snowy roads.

Local Jeeps for Side Trips

Some of the most photographed spots in the north, such as Fairy Meadows near Raikot Bridge, Deosai and Saif ul Malook near Naran, are only reachable by local jeep, not by a normal car. We can drop you at the jeep point for these, but the local jeep itself is booked and paid for at the location, not through us.

  1. Our car to the jeep point

  2. Switch to a local jeep

  3. Fairy Meadows, Deosai, Saif ul Malook

Drivers

  • Police verification and a CNIC record on every driver we send north.
  • Nobody with less than 5 years behind the wheel drives for us.
  • When the summer and Eid rush books out our own fleet, a wider network of car owners we work with steps in, so your date still gets a car.
  • You will not be asked for a licence or a deposit on any northern booking.

How to Book

  1. Send us your plan on WhatsApp, the destination, dates and how many are traveling.

  2. We match a car to the road, factoring in the season, and send you the daily rate.

  3. Lock in the trip with an advance, usually 20 percent, and settle the rest as the tour goes.

  4. Pickup happens on schedule, from your address in Islamabad or Rawalpindi.

A CNIC, NICOP or passport copy is needed to book. There is no security deposit.

Group and Family Tours

For a bigger family gathering or an office trip north, the Hiace Grand Cabin and the Toyota Coaster both travel these routes, subject to the same road limits as any other vehicle, meaning no jeep tracks or very tight mountain bends. Tell us your group size on WhatsApp and we will confirm which vehicle fits.

Foreign visitors

Foreign Tourists

Hunza, Skardu, Gilgit, Deosai, Khunjerab and the main Karakoram Highway do not require a special permit for a foreign visitor holding a valid Pakistani visa, though carrying the original passport and visa is expected at checkposts along the way (Raahi Retreats, Gilgit Baltistan permits for foreigners). Areas close to the Line of Control, including parts of Azad Kashmir, can have separate rules, so if your trip includes those areas, message us first and we will confirm what applies. English speaking drivers are available on request, though the number of these drivers is limited, so ask early when booking.

Cancellation and Refund

Cancel at least 4 days before your travel date for a full refund.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need to rent a car for a northern trip?

A CNIC, NICOP or passport copy. There is no security deposit and no driving licence needed, since our own driver takes you the whole way.

Are there any hidden fees when I book a northern tour?

No. The daily rate, driver food and stay, and any extra days from a road closure are all explained before you travel. There are no charges added afterward that were not discussed on WhatsApp.

Can a normal car like a Corolla go to Naran, Hunza or Skardu?

It depends on the route. A Corolla works well for Murree, Nathia Gali and the sealed sections of the Karakoram Highway. For Skardu, Babusar Top and similar climbs, we send the Revo or Prado, both 4x4.

Who pays for the driver’s food and stay on a multi day trip?

The customer. In the northern areas this usually runs PKR 1,000 to 1,500 a night, and around Murree PKR 2,000 to 2,500 a night, on top of the daily vehicle rate.

What happens if a landslide or snowfall blocks the road?

We tell you as soon as we know. If the trip runs longer because of this, the extra days are billed at the same daily rate.

Can the car go to Fairy Meadows, Deosai or Saif ul Malook?

Our vehicles reach the point where a local jeep is needed for these, then the jeep itself is booked and paid for at the location.

Is a van or Coaster available for a group heading north?

Yes, both the Hiace Grand Cabin and the Toyota Coaster travel these routes, within the same road limits as our other vehicles.

Do foreign tourists need a special permit for Hunza or Skardu?

No special permit is needed for Hunza, Skardu, Gilgit or the main highway with a valid visa, though carrying your passport and visa is expected at checkposts. Areas near the Line of Control can differ, so message us if your trip goes there.
